Interesting evening at the 6th Annual REPAF’s Gala

It’s under the theme Linking Quebec with Africa that the Consul of Togo in Quebec Me Stéphane HARVEY met with many other consuls and few old friends during his 2nd consecutive participation, this time, at the 6th Annual Gala of the African Business Network: REPAF (Réseau des entrepreneurs et professionnels africains du Québec), this May, in Montreal.

Before few hundreds guests, as Chair of the Forum des entrepreneurs du Québec , Me HARVEY presented the partneship between the FORUM and the REPAF, which enables the 2 organizations to work together on many economic events, starting this Fall 2013. The partnership will help to build up economic bridges between Quebec and Africa.

Furthermore, after many years, the Consul renewed old friendships with few people, including one with Federal MP, Denis CODERRE, who could become the futur Mayor of Montreal.

PARTIR AUTREMENT shooting in Togo

PARTIR AUTREMENT, hosted by Quebec famous comedian and globetrotter Yves PELLETIER, is shooting in Togo from February 9 to 16, 2013. This week-end, the Quebec TV team is the region of the Big lakes on the Togo-Benin border to take footage of the Zambeto Masks Festival in Agbanakin.

During its stay, PARTIR AUTREMENT will be shooting in the same region its topic on Eco-tourism. With more than 55 million people watching the weekly TV show on TV5 WordlWide Network, the team is actually producing its 5th season. The one hour show on Togo will be broadcasted next Fall.

Touristic TV Show PARTIR AUTREMENT shooting doc in Togo

Interesting story that went on at the Consulate over the last few months along side with the Quebec team of the International Touristic TV Show PARTIR AUTREMENT on TV5, and Togolese Autorities.

Over Fall 2012, PARTIR AUTREMENT, hosted by Quebec famous comedian and globetrotter Yves PELLETIER, approached the Consulate of Togo in Quebec in order to produce in Togo 2 TV Documentary shows of one hour each on 2 different topics. One item emerged.

PARTIR AUTREMENT is in Togo from February 9 to 16, 2013 to shoot the doc show on one specific topic related to eco-tourism. The weekly TV show, which is followed on TV5 WordlWide Network by more than 55 million people, will be broadcasted next Fall.

Jacques PLANTE, a Quebecker Specialist for the Word Bank in educational reforms was in Togo in October 2012. Father of Frédéric PLANTE, journalist & host of the 5 to 7 show on the Sports Network RDS, M. PLANTE is proudly showing the logo of the show on the picture. Jacques PLANTE has been travelling in Africa for many decades and he’s providing really good help into the educational reforms in Togo. He will return there on several occasions in 2013.

The Consulate of Togo in Quebec was a proud sponsor and partner at the 3rd edition of l’Afrique en fête (African Festival) in Quebec City from August 10 to 12,2012.

Festivities took off through a kick off party at a Boston Pizza Sports bar in Quebec City on Friday night, August 10. Celebrations continued over the week-end Festival at Baie de Beauport during which the Consul Me Stéphane HARVEY got nice coverage in one of the main daily newspaper in the city (article in French).

A Togolese delegation from the Togo Chamber of Commerce (CCI Togo) attended the Forum mondial de la Langue française & its Economic program, form July 2 ot 6 2012, in Quebec City. Led by its GM, Djahlin Philippe BROOHM, the delegation visited the Togo Consulate in Quebec, on Friday, July 6, to meet both the Togo Consul, Me HARVEY & the new Honorary Consul of Senegal in Quebec City, Me Michel BARAKATT.

The night before, during a meeting over dinner between the Togolese delegation & the Togo-Québec Consulate, it was agreed upon that an Economic Mission composed of Togolese entrepreneurs will visit Quebec in Spring 2013 and one made of Quebec entrepreneurs attached to an humanitarian program ,will travel to Togo, over Fall 2013.

The Consul Me Stéphane HARVEY attended the traditional reception & brunch during the Quebec National Holiday offered by Quebec Premier Jean CHAREST, on Sunday June 24, at the Musée national des Beaux-Arts du Québec, in Quebec City.

Under a great Sunday sun, more than 200 guests such as many Ambassadors based in Ottawa, Consuls of Quebec, provincial ministers and even the mayor of Quebec City, Régis LABEAUME, and his spouse, all showed up to pay tribute during that special event. June 24 was also the birthday of Quebec Premier, Jean CHAREST.
